Experience

Katy (She/Her/Hers) has experience in a variety of settings - outpatient and hospital - that have led to enhanced insight around the complex intersection between chronic illness and mental health.  Her additional professional experiences working with veterans/military and first responders, as well as individuals experiencing loss from suicide, disability, pregnancy or infant loss have all led Katy to a passion for working with trauma, anxiety and grief.  Her own personal experiences of being a suicide survivor along with single parenting, postpartum struggles and parenting neurodivergent kids have led to her fervent desire to support & guide individuals - especially new moms and dads - on their journey to better understanding what helps them be more balanced and healthy.

Katy provides individual therapy for adults ages 18+. She sees clients in the office or via telehealth.

Personal

Why did you become a therapist? I never wanted to be a therapist until I got trained in trauma therapy as a requirement for my outreach job at the VA. It was then that I realized that the therapeutic process & using evidence based treatments to treat trauma & other mental health concerns really made a difference. Simultaneously, I had become a mother & had an interest in perinatal mental health due to my own personal journey. I wanted to combine the two interests.

What are your interests outside of work? Spending time with my husband & three kids, usually outdoors mountain biking, skiing or hiking.

Do you have any pets? Yes! I have also recently taken to my son's gerbil (had no idea how much I would enjoy him!).
