Personal

Why did you become a therapist? It took 2 years of infertility treatments to become pregnant with my oldest. At the time, perinatal mental health/reproductive mental health, did not appear to be readily available. I decided that when I healed from my own journey of becoming a mom, I would become trained in reproductive mental health so others did not have to feel alone as they went on their own journeys to parenthood.

What are your interests outside of work? Board games, native gardening, hiking, collecting books that I insist I will read....and never do.

How do you recharge? I love nature. During the non-snow months, you will find me outside as much as possible. You will most likely find me in my rain garden, or one of my pollinator gardens, trying to identify what bumble bees have come to visit, or trying to pull invasive weeds. During the snowy months, I recharge by planning changes to my garden when the snow melts, learning about bee lawns, researching whatever I find myself in a hole about, and crochet.

Do you have any pets? I have an old-man cat, Prince Charming. He was a rescue that I bought for my grandma and then readopted myself when she was no longer able to care for him. He is now 15 years-old. My daughters have two guinea pigs.

What is your favorite podcast these days? Seeing White podcast. It is very well done and educational. I appreciate anything that shifts my perspective.

What is one of your favorite quotes? "You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." AA Milne
