Since embarking on this journey, my goal has always been to be the kind of provider I needed when I first started healing my health concerns.

Experience

Caitlin holds a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Roseville, MN. She has several years of clinical experience and enjoys exploring all facets of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) including acupuncture, cupping, herbal medicine, moxibustion, gua sha, and bloodletting. She is most interested in treating women’s health, fertility, and mental health.

Having a role as a healthcare provider was always an interest of mine, but it took me some time to find out where my passion lay. At the beginning of my educational journey, I participated in observational clinical rotations at my local hospital, spoke to various healthcare providers, and took healthcare-related college coursework. I had even started a radiography program, but nothing “clicked” until I shadowed an acupuncturist—one of the few in my small Michigan hometown. I knew upon meeting her that I wanted to give the kind of life-changing care she provided. The goal quickly became moving near the closest acupuncture school, nearly 400 miles away, and that’s when my journey truly began. I was immediately captivated by traditional Chinese medicine and never questioned my choice to enroll.

Caitlin is licensed with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and board-certified through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Personal

Why did you go into this field of study? Many acupuncturists I have spoken with have great stories of starting school because of how much acupuncture helped them. But this was not my story. From my classes, I knew there were many things acupuncture could accomplish, but most of my healing didn’t come until the end of my school years. One of the greatest lessons I discovered in acupuncture school was learning to listen to my body and strive to achieve a deeper understanding of why I feel the way I do. Ever since, I have made significant improvements to my mental, menstrual, and digestive health—and understand how they are all connected!

What are your interests outside of work? When I’m not in the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Andrew, and our three cats. I also have fun baking, cooking, knitting or crocheting, and occasionally traveling.
